MSU 4-H Soccer day

please let me know if your club would like to to this.

MSU women's soccer team game vs LSU on October 17th. The game is at 1 PM in the afternoon and I am trying to get the 4H club involved. I was thinking to just recognize them at half time with the girl scouts and boy scouts. Game is free of charge. You can email me back at ejr61@msstate.edu

Magnolia Young Cultivators NEW 4-H Club

Christy Harrell has started a new club called magnolia young cultivators. see below for more information.

Magnolia Young Cultivators is a farm-style scout program for girls and boys ages 6-13. We will meet the second Monday of every month at 2pm at the MSU Extension office.

Our first meeting will be a Reusable shopping bag swap in September. Gather three bags for each participant and we'll swap them. This will qualify you for the beginner and expert levels of the It's in the Bag. Start now by being responsible for gathering the shopping bags for three different shopping trips and you'll be qualified for intermediate level. That means you'll have three certificates and one badge after just our first meeting. I'll also be giving certificates for these categories,

Most colorful
Most creative
Most recycled

Robot Round-Up at the 4-H Village

We are pleased to announce a fun robotics opportunity for your 4-H youth at the State Fair! On October 16th we will host the Robot Round-Up at the 4-H Village. Your 4-H'ers can build, program, and
decorate a robotic animal to show. Robotic animals only eat batteries so there is no food involved and no clean-up if you know what I mean. This is a great "first robot project" as it comes with building instructions and programming instructions. Space is limited, be sure to check out the attached flyer for details. It'll be fun, it'll be exciting...we can't wait to see you there!

4-Her’s Pull for Ronald McDonald House!

The Service Learning Project for 2010 Congress was collecting the pop tabs from soda cans to benefit Ronald McDonald House (The House that Love Built) in Memphis, TN. 4-H’ers across the state collected more than 500 pounds of pop tabs. This Service Learning Project was easy and 4-H’ers were proud to support this “home-away-from home” for families with a child battling cancer or another catastrophic illness and who is receiving treatment at St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis.
This service learning project will continue for Congress 2011, so start saving pop tabs now.

New Club Record Banner Program

Volunteers,

We are having a volunteer training g on the new Club Banner Program September 27, 2010. Sharon bet me to planning this (haha). I will have Oktibbeha County Office available for this training. I have a commitment from two clubs already. I would LOVE to have more. I will e available to assist in any way i can with this. Please let me if you can attend this meeting.
